چکیده

Acknowledgements I would first and foremost like to thank my thesis advisor, Daniel Fetter. This thesis would not be possible without him. I am very grateful for all the support, expertise, and patience he has offered me from the beginning. With his guidance I gained a deeper understanding of not only my topic but economics in general. I would also like to thank Kristin Butcher for her unending support as well as her guidance. I would like to thank Patrick McEwan, Courtney Coile, and Phillip Levine for their suggestions throughout the year of how to improve my analysis. I would also like to thank the entire Economics Department, past and present, for their outstanding instruction and guidance in all fields of life. Additionally, I would like to thank the members of the Economics Research Seminar for their support and advice. Much gratitude is offered to my friends for supporting me not only throughout this process, but through all my undertakings these past few years. I have learned a great deal from them and they have provided an irreplaceable sounding board. I would like to extend a special recognition to Lucy Cleland and Anna Coronata; I owe them a great debt of gratitude for proof reading my thesis, no matter how long it took. Finally, I would especially like to thank my parents. They have provided endless support throughout my entire life in whatever endeavor I chose to take on. Especially through this process, they have provided moral and emotional support along with their patience and understanding. I would not be where I am today without them.
